I have to admit that the first time I saw this Essex sofa at West Elm I was in love. It's quirky, with almost vintage lines. Like my sister said, it's a statement piece. However, as much as I adore it, I almost passed it up for another, more classic sofa. It was the safe bet. But you remember that I did say that I am going to push the limits with this house, so after multiple calls to my husband and sister, I took it! I could barely pass it up, it was on sale for about 50% off the regular price. But now at home, I feel like it was a good decision. Because, if you can't have at least one bold piece in your own home, then what's the point of decorating at all?
